Automatic watches

An automatic watch is a watch equipped with an automatic winding mechanism. The carrier’s movements drive an oscillating weight which, due to a system of gears, transmits the generated force all the way into the watch’s spring. Thus the watch no longer requires that it be wound manually. Most of the automatic mechanisms available today allow for the winding using either direction of the weight’s rotation. Moreover, they also provide enough power reserve for fifty hours on average, depending on the model.
